Every Thursday morning, we do something a little different to get everybody going. Mike Deibler, our physical trainer, kicked off the meeting with a high energy stretch and hug yourself exercise (you really need to have been there to experience it), pumping everybody up for the rest of the high-energy meeting.
It was great to meet James Kinney, an IT project manager, invited by John McConnell. We hope to see him at our next meeting after Thanksgiving!
Our next guest, Wayne Fletcher was voted in as our new Auto Detailer: Mr. Michael's Mobile Auto Detailing - West Coast Division. Wayne's brining his 15 years experience on the East Coast to San Diego!
As the big tipper the lucky member also gets to showboat at each meeting. Debbie Bonham (our tailor-seamstress), November's big tipper, has been doing a great job w/ her showboat - this week she showed the variety of different materials, patterns, and jewelry, that you can use to enhance an outfit. Remember - the winner that sends her the most tips wins $100!
Jasmine Guerrero, our Property & Casualty Insurance expert, put together a showboat that featured some of her insurance tips, showing you the difference between having insurance and being insured. It was also exciting to learn that her new office has opened now in Old Town San Diego. Congrats, Jasmine!

Mike Deibler started us off this morning by reminding us how important it is to stretch each day. From the groans we all made, apparently it's something we need to do more often. (In fact we'd like to invite you to take a moment right now and stand up, interlace your fingers behind your back and lift your hands away from your back)

Now put your hands together and clap for our new member, David Keefe. David is a mortgage officer with Integrity First. He has over 9 years of experience and we are pleased to welcome him into our group.
Talk it out
Our society today tends to look for quick solutions. When it comes to depression, we use the same mentality and look for an instant solution with a pill. Our psychologist, Dr. John McConnell, showed us today while pills do provide relief from depression, the relapse rate is significantly higher after stopping the pills. Traditional talk therapy allows you to actually address the psychological issues at cause instead of just dealing with the symptoms.
Today, in an effort to help our featured speaker (Dr. Matin, our chiropractor) drum up more business, we all stood on our chairs and saw who could hold the yoga 'tree' pose the longest. At the very end, our returning president, Rich Yumul turned out to be the most balanced in the competition. Hip hip hooray for Rich!

You strike up some small talk with another business professional as you wait for your elevator to the ground floor. As you step into your elevator with your new friend, you discover that he is your ideal client.
Do you know what to say to him before your hit the ground floor and go your separate ways?
If you do, or if you don't, last Thursday was a great meeting to attend because we opened up with practicing our elevator speeches.
Everybody partnered up and had 30 seconds to deliver their elevator speech. It was interesting to get the feedback from our partners, seeing what point they took away and if they understood the call to action. Hopefully everybody was able to take the input from their partners to improve their speech so when the real thing comes along, they know how to deliver.
